Healthy Expectations

Mon petit fils! AvMed's Healthy Expectations Program offers support, services, and information to expectant mothers.  While the program is not meant to replace the care of doctors or other providers, it can give mothers-to-be valuable assistance during their pregnancy.  The goal of the program is to give babies the greatest chance of being born strong and healthy.

The program offers expectant mothers accessibility to a maternity care specialist, access to AvMed's Nurse On-Call toll-free 24-hour telephone line [(888) 866-5432] for questions and information, and a publication entitled Maternity Moments.  In addition, if a member is identified as having a "high risk" pregnancy, she will be assigned a care coordinator to assist her throughout the pregnancy to help prevent premature delivery.

Members are referred to the Healthy Expectations Program after notifying member services [(800) 882-8633] that they are pregnant.
