On-Call

Now, more than ever, health improvement is only a telephone call away. Whether you want to speak to a registered nurse on staff at AvMed or listen to an audio tape from our health library, AvMed’s On Call is ready to help you, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Just dial the toll-free number: (888) 866-5432.

To speak to a registered nurse, you’ll need to have your AvMed membership number ready when you call. To listen to an audio tape from the audio health library, simply enter the appropriate topic number on your telephone’s keypad.  A brochure listing each audio topic and corresponding topic ID was included with your initial membership welcome packet.  If you don't have access to the topic list, you can log in to Member Services Online, then choose 'Audio Health Library' to view the list of topics.  Or, call the number above and select the option to speak with a nurse, and they can lookup a topic ID for you.

Putting you First:
This free telephone health information service is another way for AvMed to help you stay healthy and well. You can use it in any number of ways. If you cut your hand and you don’t know the best way to cleanse the wound, use AvMed’s On Call to speak to a registered nurse, or listen to an audio tape on cuts from our audio health library. There are more than 450 topics to choose from. Or, maybe your grandchild has a fever of 101°, and you don’t know whether you can take care of her at home. What can you do to make her more comfortable? Should you go to the emergency room? These are questions which AvMed’s On Call can help you answer.
