At Your Service 24/7
AvMed’s Member Services Department is unique in that every telephone call is answered by one of our representatives with prompt, professional, and courteous service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Members tell us having access to Member Services after-hours is a valued benefit.  Members can call the Member Services Department toll-free at (800) 882-8633, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

AvMed’s Nurse On-Call
The AvMed Nurse On-Call program is a 24/7 telephone line staffed by registered nurses, so members can speak confidentially with a nurse about health concerns any day of the week.  While many other health plans outsource this function or staff it out-of-state, AvMed’s Nurse On-Call staff consists of Florida-based registered nurses who are employed directly by AvMed.  They are familiar with our contracted physicians and benefit plans and are prepared to help members make informed decisions about the appropriate course of action related to an illness or injury, including when it’s prudent and appropriate to call the doctor. 
 

Comprehensive Care Management Programs:

AvMed’s 11 Care Management Programs address the needs of members with chronic conditions.  A team of registered nurses is available to help these members navigate the healthcare system and maximize their benefits.  Through education and individualized attention, AvMed empowers its members to take an active role in managing their health.  AvMed Case Managers call members daily, arrange for home-health staff when needed, and constantly assess the member’s condition.  The following is a list of AvMed’s 11 Care Management Programs:
