speak to a registered nurse on staff at AvMed or listen to an audio tape from our health

Screening
AvMed motivates members to take an active role in their wellness, encouraging them to get the
proper age-specific and gender-specific screenings
and immunizations to prevent health problems in
the future. We regularly send reminders, incentives and contest information to generate
excitement and engage members in their health. Wellness and prevention information is
promoted through mailings and in our award-winning member magazine, mailed to members'
homes on a quarterly basis.
Guidelines and Standards
AvMed has been actively involved in the development and dissemination of standards,
guidelines, and related documents for use by AvMed's network practitioners and AvMed's
members. These documents contain current information related to clinical practice. It
is a convenient and important resource for all health care professionals who care for
AvMed members.

Audio Health Library
The Audio Health Library is a telephone based audio text health information system designed
to provide callers with general information and education on a wide variety of health care
topics. Library material is oriented to home treatment, education and prevention; it
contains an extensive inventory of general health information to facilitate patient
education.
Health Report Card
AvMed's Health Report Card offers suggestions on how to minimize health risks. This
user-friendly, interactive tool helps identify potential problem areas through a review
that combines gender-specific screening information with personal medical histories, along
with questions about diet, exercise habits and consumption of drugs and alcohol.
Medical Encyclopedia
A valuable reference tool containing comprehensive medical information designed to keep you
informed and proactive in your health decisions.
